How do we deal with ending? That is what Morning, Mourning questions, dragging a lifeless body through space, as an endless journey into a hopeless effort.
Youri and Marie won the jury prize with the 27 min. version of “Morning, Mourning” at Cafe Theater Festival Utrecht 2018.
From the jury report: “Through beautiful dance material, the performance makes a theme palpable for which there is not enough language in the world to give words. This pas-de-deux, about a desperate attempt to hold on, creates an almost kinetic experience. It carries the viewers along, makes them wonder and be amazed, only to end up deeply moved.”
The 12 min. version of “Morning, Mourning” won two prices from Rotterdam international duet choreography competition and maas theater en dans.
